Anyone seen the pilot to this?
It's set 58 years before the attack on the colonies as seen in BSG and it follows the birth of the modern day cylons. We also see a very young William Adama and his father.
The pilot is a nice long episode so provides lots of things to draw you into it.
I'm not sure if it is going to be as good as BSG (but it doesn't have Tricia Hughes/ Caprica Six in it anyway so already it loses there) but so far it looks like it could be quite good.
Looking forward to the next episode.

So they have finally started this series properly now. I watched the second episode this week.... I'm hoping that it's just a case of it's a slow buildup to an awesome series. You know, laying the groundwork and all that. Because the second episode didn't score that highly with me.
But like I said, it could just be that they have a lot of groundwork to lay before the roller-coaster of awesomeness comes.
Don't get me wrong. Was still good... just not great.
Some slight spoilers ahead.
The basic story so far is that the world of Caprica is as you know dominated by the belief in several gods. A few "soldiers of the one" are trying to bring about change to their belief. To this end a rather smart young girl creates an AI program, which is a copy of her personality.. to what end we don't know yet.. but then the girl dies. The father of the daughter discovers her program and tries to use it to his own end by downloading it into a mechanical soldier his company is developing (the first prototype Cylcon). You then follow the story of this fledgling AI who is essentially a copy of the girl who died but now in a mechanical body as she comes to grips with her emotions and new life, all the while her father and colleagues think it is just a robot.
So I will of course continue watching this but I just hope it gets better than this last episode. _________________ Hard work pays off in the future. Laziness pays off now |

3rd episode was a little better... or perhaps my expectations were lower this week.
*insert Stewie sarcasm*
Got a little plotline your working on there Hmmm? A little emotional groundwork being developed... some character plotline.. hmmm... Some interesting storylines coming together.... hmmmmm..
No no, thats good.. you got yourself a nice little book there.
Sorry.. couldn't resist.. as thats what I did think during one of the more drawn out emotional scenes last night.
But I can see where they are going with it at least. You start to find out a little more about the Soldiers of the One's plot.. though only in as much as you find out that the lady you thought was the mastermind indeed isn't and there is something more sinister going on.
I personally think it's going to end up being Adama's daughter's avatar in a Cylon body instead of Zoe and thats what starts it all... but thats just my speculation.
I think it's slowly but surely working up to something good.. at least I hope so... otherwise I'll never get all that time I spent watching the last 3 episodes back. _________________ Hard work pays off in the future. Laziness pays off now |
